We had a really nice lunch at Madison's today. It's a lovely building, with an airy comfortable feel both inside and on the porch, where we were. There was no wait for a table when we arrived. Hannah was our server and was very attentive and helpful. The food was outstanding! Both of us had the cream of tomato sauce and loved it...unfortunately we ate it too fast to take a photo! I had the Seared Rare Tuna, and it was perfect. My friend had the Fried Green Tomatoes, which I tried and we both thought they were excellent. Very glad to have tried this restaurant, and highly recommend!
Wonderful place to grab some good food and enjoy the quaint yet cool town of Port Royal. I love these little places where a historic house is transformed into a restaurant. At Madison's you get an at home vibe with a little sparkle of sophistication. Oh yeah let's talk about the most important part..food! We all ordered different dishes and shared two appetizers on the menu without any disappointment in taste or portions. We came for lunch and were immediately greeted by the friendly smiles of their staff. I had the house burger-it's topped with a layer of sweet and smokey bacon jam then a big scoop of gooey pimento cheese. The burger was seasoned nicely where you could still taste the beef yet the flavors were elevated to match the showstopping toppers. I usually focus more on the main dish, but OMG the hand cut fries are aaaammazing! I had to cover my plate to prevent myself from devouring every single one of those bad boys. I have had a ton of hand cut fries and I believe these are one of the best, if not The Best fries I have ever had. Do not leave without ordering the fries-super crispy yet not overcooked or greasy. We were kinda hungry so I forgot to take pics of the appetizers, but they were great. We shared the crispy yet tender calamari and the various deviled eggs topped with different ingredients like shrimp, pimento cheese, etc. My hubby ordered the seafood basket with fried flounder and oysters. The seafood was cooked perfectly! Light, crispy batter that doesn't fall off when you take your first bite or when you dip it in tartar sauce. Everyone at our table loved their food-Shrimp and grits, Seared tuna salad, Mahi Mahi sandwich, and a Philly cheesesteak sandwich. Don't leave town until you have tried this place.
Omg so good. Will be back for sure! I had the kids fried shrimp and fries. The shrimp was maybe one minute overcooked, but the breading was beautifully light and the fries were seasoned delicouslt. The ranch I dipped in was unusual but delish. So flavorful! The hush puppies were nice and light with a delish thin crust. Hubs liked his she crab soup and ate every bite of his shrimp and grits. My son had the crawfish etoufee and said to note that it definitely had the Cajun kick but was so good. My other son had the kids shrimp alfredo and he said it was amazing and very creamy. I also had a blackberry margarita and it might be one of the best margs I've ever had. We will absolutely be back.
Stopped by with friends for early dinner after attending Port Royal OctoPRfest on Saturday. Great service & delicious food. It’s been a little while since we dined at Madison’s and were not disappointed!

The location couldn’t be better, right in the heart of Port Royal, with a cozy yet elegant atmosphere that works for both a casual night out and a special dinner. Service was excellent, especially from Chris, who made the evening feel personal and welcoming. My favorite part of the night was the Bananas Foster Martini paired with their classic Bananas Foster dessert — a match made in heaven that I’ll definitely be back for. With its consistent quality, creative cocktails, and neighborhood charm, Madison’s is a true local gem that feels like home.
Words can’t even describe how fantastic this place is. My server, Helen, was absolutely phenomenal from start to finish. She made me feel so welcomed and comfortable, truly like family. It’s so rare to find someone whose kindness and energy can completely elevate an experience the way she did. I would come back solely for the way she made me feel. I ordered the she-crab soup and the redfish sandwich, and honestly, it was one of the best soup and sandwich combos I’ve ever had. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Between the amazing food and Helen’s outstanding service, this was an experience I’ll be thinking about for a long time. Highly highly highly recommend!
I can't speak highly enough for Madison's restaurant. They told us they recommend reservations but we had no idea since we were from out of town. We were in luck and they were able to seat our party of 7. From the time we sat done until we left they had top notch service. Kaylee was our server and she was absolutely phenomenal. We had a straggler in our party and she was able to get his food out with the rest of our party. She was very friendly and did an awesome job. All of our food was excellent and I would recommend you check them out.
Let me start by simply saying wow. The exact word that left my mouth after taking my first bite of the Seafood Pasta. It was unbelievable; creamy, rich, and the perfect amount of fishy! Upon entering, the atmosphere feels like an ideal blend of “inviting” but also fine dining. The waiters were all incredibly friendly, the beauty of dining somewhere small in my opinion. On top of that, one of the owners not only introduced himself, but sat at our table gave detailed descriptions of the dishes we were interested in. I expressed my distaste for mussels and he reassured me that they could take them out of the dish for me. Excellent service, frequent table touches (which mean a lot to me as a former server), amazing food, and the perfect atmosphere, balancing elegance and homey-ness in a way I hadn’t realized was possible. WOW.
Food was absolutely amazing! I had the tenderloin special and my girlfriend had the jambalaya risotto. She said hers was good but mine was better. We also both had blueberry margs which were SO good. We’ve already talked about coming back before we leave the area!
Wonderful place. Set in an old house in Port Royal. We had to wait for a bit to get a seat but not bad considering it was Friday night. We sat on the back screened patio which was nice. We had an appetizer that was a shrimp stuffed croissant and they were delicious. The shrimp and grits as well as the Jambalaya were great. 10/10
